Privacy Policy

mic(ism) and/or its affiliates (referred to as "mic(ism) online store", "", "we", "us", or "our" herein) work to ensure that your integrity is maintained on the Internet. We have therefore produced a policy for how your personal information is used. We reserve the right to modify the content of this privacy statement and related business practices at any time by posting updated text on this site on an ongoing basis. You should therefore read through this policy again when you next visit one of our websites.

personal details

We accept responsibility for all the personal information such as your name, address and any other personal details that you provide us with or that we find out on recruitment or in competitions.  The information is kept within the mic(ism) group and its subsidiaries as the party responsible for personal data.

mic(ism) will not pass on your personal details to third parties.

why do we take your details and what are they used for?

We use the information that we collect to fulfill our commitments to you and to provide you with the service that you expect.  This includes sending you information and offers for marketing purposes.  In registering your interest/making an application you consent to our processing your personal details in a recruitment process.  We will only store your details subsequently with your consent.  We always try to respond to applications as quickly as possible.

how can you check what personal information on you we have stored?

You have the right to contact us and enquire as to exactly what personal information relating to you we have stored in our databases and on our systems.  If any of the information turns out to be incorrect or irrelevant you may advise us on any amendments or deletions.

transaction encryption and authentication

Your security and peace of mind is of paramount importance to us.  In our online store we protect all of your data with the help of encryption.  In our online store we protect all of your data with the help of SSL encryption.  SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer and is a protocol which encrypts all information which is sent back and forth between you and us, via our site and that of PayPal, our credit/debit card payment partner.

PayPal's security and safety advice can be found here. The transfer of the purchase details from to PayPal is only made once the details have been encapsulated using PayPal's own encrypted and digitally-signed protocol.  This uses a combination of standard methods such as military-grade PGP keys, RSA public-key algorithms for both encryption and authentication and MD5 (Message Digest) algorithms to ensure that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof.

security for you, the shopper

All communication between you, the shopper and PayPal is also encrypted to the maximum strength supported by your browser using TLS or 128-bit SSL.  You are also protected from the fraudulent use of your card in this "card not present" environment by your card issuer.  Cardholders have the right to dispute a transaction if the goods do not arrive (when sent via "insured shipping") or if it can be proved that their card has been used fraudulently.

data storage

Data storage on PayPal systems as well as the communication between PayPal and the worldwide banking networks is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure and maintain a secure transaction environment.  PayPal also ensure that they stay up-to-date with the latest versions of all third-party code they use and continually review their own proprietary code.

Once orders are retrieved, no record of them or your card details are kept on our or PayPal's servers.

credit/debit card purchases

When you shop with you card at, no actual transactions are made via the Internet.  Only your card number and its expiry date are sent (encrypted) to us.  We then crosscheck the details given by you to ensure that these exactly match the information held and registered by the card issuer.

Please note, that when entering your credit/debit card details online, we may cross-reference this information with other mic(ism) entities, such as financial institutes. This will help to protect you, the customer, from fraud.

Please remember that your card is both personal and private.  As such you cannot shop, for example, using your parent's or friend's card.  Nor, for that matter, using a card which is registered to a company.
