Summer steez: DVDs & teesAs well as LipBiz™ being back in stock, there are now two hot new products available via our online store.
First up is our brand spanking new smoke trees, dope beats t-shirt. This is our first collaboration with UK brand The Hemp Trading Company aka THTC.
Constructed from 55% organic hemp and 45% cotton, these tees are 100% dope (excuse the pun). Whilst maintaining supremely high quality, THTC is committed to fair working conditions throughout their supply chain. All workers involved in the production of these garments are between the ages of 18 and 55 years, have labor unions as well as health care and pension schemes.
We only have 51 of these limited, hand-numbered tees, so don't delay!
Whilst you're visiting our online store, check out our second new product. Boom Click Productions presents MC Squared includes approximately 45 minutes of live footage from this internationally renowned beatboxer from New Jersey. You don't have to take our word for it though. As Rahzel said, "MC Squared's skills are undeniable…one of the very few talents to capture one's imagination." Praise doesn't come much higher or from a more reliable source than that. Most definitely a DVD to add to your hopefully burgeoning collection.
When talking to another beatboxer, MC Squared once said, "You're going to grow faster than any of us because you don't realize how dope you are." That other beatboxer was Shodekeh, who on July 14th will be performing in Baltimore's Belvedere Hotel within the night haven of The 13th Floor. The line up also includes Locust Grove, Stephanie's Id, and special guest beatboxer Yuri Lane from Chicago. The show begins at 9 pm, so whatever you do don't be late.
On July 16th and 17th, Shodekeh will also be working with The Expansion Dance Project as a part of The Joy of Motion Hip Hop Festival at The Jack Guidone Theater in Washington D.C. Beautiful women dancing to the sounds of vocal boom baps? Beatbox heaven! Click here for more info and to purchase tickets.
July 16th is shaping up to be a big night for beatbox as Poizunus is also performing; this time at the Asian Night Market (Metro Square and New Cenutry Plaza) in Markham, ON. You can also catch him on Friday, July 22nd at Elements at the Opera House in Toronto, ON. For this second show, doors open at 6pm and $20 advanced tickets are available. Even if you can't make either of these dates, check out Poizunus' official site where the media section has just been updated with a clip from his performance at Superskillz.
If you can't wait that long for a live beatbox fix, stop by Plan B in NYC tomorrow night (July 12th) and witness the loud funkiness which is Big Pump. Featuring Baba Israel of Open Thought Productions on rhymes, beatbox and didgeridoo; this is the spot for dancing (compulsory) and drinking (optional). Plenty of fun from 10pm to midnight.
Finally, new magazine Rhythm Has A Struggle aka R.H.A.S. is calling on beatboxers to submit press packs for their launch issue's review section. They are also interested in hearing from beatboxers who are keen to put forward their own sociopolitical views.
CD submissions and press packs are to be sent to: 45 Christchurch House, Christchurch Road, London, SW2 3UB, United Kingdom. For further details, email Sophie or call her on +44 (0) 7981 502 983. Don't miss out on this opportunity of good quality exposure!
