Adam Matta's new beatbox CD

More live beatbox action to get all your asses off couches and away from computer screens.

Tomorrow, November 28th, sees London's own Mr Mouth performing at Jump @ Cargo in his home city. All the details are available on the Cargo site.

Mr Mouth is currently working on his debut album, but if you can't wait 'til that drops you can always buy some ringtunes from his site.

On October 30th, Adam Matta will be a featured guest of Sarah Vidal, singer with Seth Weinstein, in Isn't it Peculiar? at the Don't Tell Mama Cabaret.  The show starts at 4:00pm and there's a $10.00 cover charge plus a 2-drink minimum per person.  Further details are available at the venue's site.

The following day, on October 31st, Adam will be performing with Erin and Her Cello at the Telephone Bar & Grill.  The show starts at 9:00pm and more details can be found at the venue's site.

If you can't make it to either of the above shows, don't despair.  We're now selling Adam's new album, Rage Against the Drum Machine, at our online store.  At only $10.99, this 15 track CD-R is a sureshot, featuring artwork and design by Adam's own bad self.

Also on October 31st, Baba Israel, Yako and Shira will be performing at the Laila Lounge's Groove Masquerade.  Hosted by Anonymous, the performances will be followed by sets from DJs Jah Jah, Erzen and Z-Money, so the dance party's set to go on real late.

It is Halloween, so "come dressed to distress" as there's a prize giveaway for the best costumes.  Entrance is $5.00 and more details are available on the Lounge's site.

Then, on November 5th at Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction, Baba and Yako will be performing with Baba's father, Steve Ben Israel, who has a one man show which you do not want to miss!  The night kicks off at 10:00pm and more info can be found at Mo Pitkin's site.

For those of you who can't make it to either of the above shows; head on over to the Open Thought Music site.  Baba and Yako have been in the lab concocting tracks for their forthcoming album and have started selling MP3s of the new material for those of you who just can't wait.

Perfect for your brand spanking new iPod Nano; the advertisement for which features the beatboxing of none other than Baba himself.

Still on the East Coast and on November 1st, Beatboxer Entertainment presents the third installment of Make the Music with Your Mouth.  Special guests and Nu Voices, the BBE house band/beatbox orchestra, will once again be tearing the roof off the Nuyorican Poets' Café.

This night's special guests include urban vocal tricks and sound effects master, Masai Electro; as well as Midi, Philly's pride and joy when it comes to funk, soul and R'n'B(eatboxing).

The show starts at 9:00pm and entrance is $10.00 (although groups of 5+ get in for $7.00). For more details, visit the venue's site or contact Terry Lewis.

If you need any more convincing, take a look at some footage from past shows.

Indeed, the East Coast must be some kinda beatbox magnet 'cause it's pulling in MC Squared who's gonna be "spreading the sqword" as part of the KnowMore.org Tour, together with Sage Francis, Sole and Sol*iLLaquists of Sound.

On November 11th, catch Squared and co. at The Ottobar, Baltimore.  Both details and tickets can be gotten here.

The next day, on November 12th, the crew will perform at The Trocadero, 'Thrilladelphia'. Tickets are $15.00 in advance and $17.00 on the day of the show.  Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 9:00pm.  All ages allowed, so take the kids.  Fun for all the family.

If you don't like to be seen in public with the family, we understand, but don't deprive them of the genius of the Squared one.  The Boom Click Productions presents: MC Squared DVD will be back in stock at our online store within the next couple of days, so keep an eye out.

Two beatboxers actually journeying east over the Atlantic are Each and Poizunus.  The duo will be performing several dates in the UK during November as part of their EP Bridge the Gap Tour:

11/18, Dekefex @ MASS in Brixton, w/ female beatbox sensation, Squeak (PL)
11/22, Cargo in London, supporting Foreign Beggars at their launch party
11/24, Leeds Met Uni, supporting Scratch and Foreign Beggars
11/25, Claire Hall in Brighton, with Addy P & others
11/26, Liverpool Music Week Festival, w/Nevo D & Hooper

If any of you have gigs to offer the guys while they're in the UK, or if you'd simply like more information on any of the above shows; please contact Each or Poizunus.

It's not all about the live show, though.  Killa Kela has recently released his major label debut, Elocution, through SONY BMG.  14 tracks of multivocalism from Kela, featuring Roots Manuva, Neneh Cherry, the Spitkingdom Soundsystem (MC Trip, DJ Skeletrik, Rookwood and Spider J) and the Elysian String Quartet. Check out Kela's site for details.

What with Matisyahu's recent signing to Epic Records and Scratch's imminent sophomore release, beatbox is most definitely starting to get the attention it deserves.

Lastly, apologies to those of you who have been waiting to join the IBA since Friday.  We had to upgrade the database and it ended up taking a few more days than expected to get everything sorted.  However, the application submittal page is now back online, so go do yourselves a favor.
